Amazon’s AI shopping assistant, Rufus, is now available to all users in the US on Amazon’s mobile app. By tapping the orange and blue icon in the app’s navigation bar, users can access Rufus to ask questions, compare items, and get order updates.

Initially introduced in February to a limited group, Rufus uses product listing details, reviews, community Q&As, and web information to provide answers. Users can inquire about specific product details, get recommendations, and check the status of their orders.

Amazon Launches AI Shopping Assistant Nationwide
Rufus has capabilities beyond that of a shopping assistant, even conversing in topics such as politics.

Rufus can answer questions about product features, such as “Is this coffee maker easy to clean?” and provide recommendations for items like outdoor speakers or summer party supplies. It also surfaces relevant questions and answers, such as battery life for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, although some answers may lack complete details.

Additionally, Rufus can address unrelated questions, including political topics like US elections, by referring users to Amazon search results and providing information on issues and candidates. However, as the assistant is still in beta, some responses may require further refinement.
